Can anyone help with finding James Wildmans. baptism circa 1816 and his wedding to Hannah? in Bentham, west riding. Hannah was born around 1821. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Judith
I notice in 1851 James gives his place of birth as Ingleton and in 1841 he has a son Thomas born 1836, William 1837, Mary 1839 and Robert 1841. In 1851 we have Rebecca 1844 and Hannah 1847. In both census there is a Mary Kidd with them. Is this the correct family?
On the IGI familysearch there is a James Wildman christened Ingleton 6 Nov 1814, parents Thomas and Mary - so a possibility

In the 1841 census theres no detailed place of birth but 1951 its Ingleton so your suggestion looks very hopeful. Any other hints ie any clues to marriage?
Many thanks

Hi Judith :)
At the moment I cannot find anything, sorry. I will have another look later, unless somebody with more resources than me can find the marriage for you in the meantime

Hi Judith
Westhouse where Hannah states she was born in 1851 is covered I believe by Fewston Parish. I had a look on the IGI for marriages there - no luck. I also had a look at Bentham but according to the Hugh Wallis site the dates we require are not covered.
So.. I had a look at the baptisms (IGI) for a Hannah around the 1817 mark, give or take a few years but there are far too many.
The only thing I can suggest is if you order Robert's birth certificate born 1841, Settle district ref 23 577, this will give Hannah's maiden name. Then at least it may be easier to either track down a marriage in parish registers or Hannah's baptism.
