Title: 'Glasshouse' records
Post by: kanburi on Friday 13 August 10 13:48 BST (UK)
Do army records exist listing names and offences of soldiers  sent to the army prisons whilst on active service in England.  I would love to trace any information I could find and if they do exist where can I access them.  Thanks for any help, Pat

Try the National Archives at Kew...  Mind you Second World War stuff may not be there... If its a particular person you are interested in and you are a relative would be better to get their service record though...

Thanks for your help.  I have dad's army record which is a masterpiece of brevity.  I just wondered whether I could find out more about the offence he committed to be sent to be sent to a military prison, the location of the prison and any other information that a record would hold.  I will go on TNA catalogue and see if they hold any records.
