Title: Name Change
Post by: bombog on Monday 09 August 10 15:57 BST (UK)
Good day, Everyone,

Is there a standard genealogical abbrevation for a name change?  I have relatives who Anglicized their European name when they immigrated to Canada.

On the flow chart I'm working on, I need to indicate the two names but need an abbreviation to highlight such a change.

Of course, if there isn't any standard abbrevation, I can always create one.

Thanks,

Jack

I don't know about genealogical abbreviations, I just say "aka" (also known as).

Strange, I never thought about that one.

Thanks, Jeuel.
