Title: John Kinnear in Scone

Hello,

I am hoping someone can help clarify some info for me.

I am trying to trace John Kinnear (b abt 1813) father of James (b abt 1852). He appears in records as a Joiner/ Innkeeper depending on the year but his wife is listed as Jean except for 1871 where she is Jane. The children listed to both women are the same. Could this be a typo?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm getting a bit confused.

Jean and Jane are interchangeable in Scotland......she was probably baptised Jane but known as Jean

James was born 11 Feb 1852 rest of family of John Kinnear and Jean Forbes
Jane Clark Kinnear 1st Jun 1849
John Kinnear          4th Sep 1841
Isabella Kinnear    15th April 1844
Alexander Kinnear 13th Nov 1846

All born Scone

John Kinnear and Jean Forbes were married 16th Oct 1840 in Scone.
