Title: Look up request - Eliza Florence Brandon

I am trying to find the name of Eliza Florence Brandon's mother. Eliza Florence Brandon was born 1st December 1872 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and her father's name was Samuel T Brandon (born 1855). If anyone could help me with this I would be really grateful.

I see on the 1881 census, Samuel is shown as unmarried and he and Eliza are living with his parents.  Unless its on her birth certificate you may never know.  Possibly she was the result of a  "one night stand" and her mother didn't want (or couldn't)  bring her up.

Eliza Florence V Brandon born 4th quarter 1872 District Aylesbury.  Volume 3a  page 540.

Looks like you'll have to buy the birth certificate.

What evidence do you have that Samuel was Eliza's father?  As he is unmarried in both 1881 and 1891 I think it more likely that Eliza was illegitimate - perhaps the daughter of Mary BRANDON Samuel's elder sister.

Thanks for your replies. Looks like I will have to get her birth certificate, I think I jumped to the conclusion that Samuel was her father.
