Title: Jack Reynolds of Walcot/Billinghay
Post by: djw456 on Friday 06 August 10 15:07 BST (UK)
Am looking for information on my godfather who lived in Walcot/Billinghay from approx 1900 - 1980. He had a small holding and also built houses in the area. If anybody can give me any information I would be grateful.

Hello and welcome

I am not sure what sort of info you already have, or what you are looking for

FreeBMD has a birth of a Jack Reynolds in Oct/Nov/Dec 1901 in Grimsby Reg District.

Do you know Jack's parents? Have you found the family in 1911?

Hello

I remember Jack Reynolds when I was a child.  He lived in one of his houses in the village of North Kyme.  There is a row of semi-detached houses on the main A153 in North Kyme which were said to belong to Jack Reynolds.  Two of these houses are now up for sale at the minute.

He was quite a character if I remember, a bit of a wheeler/dealer like Del Boy.
He drove a old green pick-up truck, with the floor nearly out.  He would buy and sell.  Think he lived with someone called Mary?

There is a web page for North Kyme village and they have a letters page where you can request if anyone knows your family, you might get some help there.
Hope this helps
Lulis

Thank you for that bit of information, Jack was my godfather, he supplied potatoes to my grandparents who had fish and chip shops in Lincoln. I was born in Buckinghamshire but can always remember coming up to Lincolnshire and sometimes visiting him and his sister Mary, he used to go around the villages with a children's merry go round when there were fetes etc. Jack is now buried in Walcott. Having come to live in Sleaford only recently its been interesting finding my roots. Many thanks Delia Webb
