Post by: whitbygeoff on Thursday 05 August 10 12:24 BST (UK)
My great grandfather Henry Carnell Palmer latterly a miner, was born in1847 at Broadhembury, Devon and died 1919 at Esh Winning, Co. Durham. I have a great deal of info on his history but despite the fact that I have photo's of my Gt. Gt grandfather I have none for Henry. I know this is a long shot but I was hoping someone out there know him and had a picture! Thanks for reading this, Geoff.

Henry Carnell Palmer was my Great Grandfather too. One of his sons, George, born at Castle Eden in 1888, was my Grandfather. George migrated to Adelaide, Australia after WW1 with his wife and young family. No old photos survive that I am aware of.

While I can't help with any of your requests for photos, anything you could provide me with info on the family history of Henry Carnell would be brilliant! Perhaps I could even get some photos from you?

Nearly all the info I have on Henry Carnell Palmer and his children came from another relative in Australia.

Elizabeth Matilda Palmer was the eldest child of Henry Carnell Palmer and Mary Elizabeth Palmer, nee Marshall. The father of Henry Carnell was Thomas Palmer. The mother of Henry Carnell was Sarah Palmer nee Carnell - our great great grandfather and gg grandmother. Thomas and Sarah are buried at Broadhembury, a small village in Devon.
My grandfather, George Palmer, was the second youngest of Henry and Mary's 10 children. There also appears to be an adopted son, Edward Herbert Davies, making 11 children.
