Hello there, recently the Salford Advertiser have published two stories on Thomas Brassington about his role in the battle of the somme, he is actually my great uncle and did live and work in salford.
Although that side of the family did originate from Derbyshire if this is any help to you?
This is a suprise to us that out of all the soilders who went to battle, they chose to write about Thomas Brassington. So we now are trying to gain as much information as we can.

We are also of the Brassington family. Thomas was my grandfather's older brother. Who are you?
