also

Charles Newman possibly born in Kooringa/Burra area c early 1860's.

Hi Ashe,
I know you have mentioned Robert RAMAGE born c1862 but found this and thought it worth mentioning in case dates typed incorrectly (which I often do  ;))

The Biographical Index of Sth Australia mentions:-
RAMAGE Robert born c1826 CLK SCT  arrived 1852 on the ship MEDINA.  Occupation, Miner, married Mary b.c.1825.
Children Janet b.c. 1848 and Mary c.1951

The only other RAMAGE mentioned in the Bio Index is a Charles Richard b.1842.

There is nothing that matches Charles Newman b.c1860's Kooringa/Burra in the Bio Index.    Is this an Anglo name, if German the spelling would possibly be Neuman/Neumann.

Regards,
Sashar

North Shields is a small old settlement about 12km north of Port Lincoln SA. There is still a Ramage family in Port Lincoln.

Many thanks to all for the information.

Saddles...will follow through on Adam Ramage info.

Sashar...
thanks for reminding me that Newman may not be Anglo. The 1826 Robert Ramage is a bit early, but maybe an earlier generation. The occupation, miner, is in keeping with the Burra region. Will keep info on file.

Kris....
the Robert married 1886 aged 23 connects with some info I have. Will follow through on the remaining info.
