My husband thinks his step-mother was at one time a (very minor) servant at Buckinghan Palace. Does anyone know where I could find out? Her name was Mary Edith Cavell Bridgeland and this would have been probably in the 1920/30s.
Thanks
Audrey

I would take the bull by the horns and write direct to Buckingham Palace, addressing your query to something like "Director of Archives". I wrote there about stable staff years ago and received a very polite and helpful reply.

Thank you Corkcutter, I'll try that. I hope they aren't too tied up with preparations for a certain wedding!

Don't forget to send a third wedding anniversary card 8)
The wedding, which took place on the 9th April, was postponed by one day due to the funeral of Pope John Paul II on 8th April 8. Prince Charles attended the funeral services
as a representative of the royal family.

Just being nosey, Audrey, but did you get a reply?
I see the "firm's" website gives the following contact details:

The "Firm" has a lengthy queue of Chief Executive Officers in Waiting. There's not much hope for graduates holding Doctorates in Business Management reaching the top of that particular business 8)
