Hi, me again does any body know how I can find out about a house my 6x g g father is supposed to have lived. It was Rishton House Bolton le Sands, circa 1735, would be grateful for any help, Thanks Kenace.

It depends on what you want to find out.

Do you want to find out if he actually lived there?  If so,  then depending on the year, you might be able to look this up in the censuses, although I suspect this one is likely to be too early if he is your 6 x g gfather .

You can check the 1911 census by address to find out if the house was still there. 

The local library may be able to help to find out a bit more about the location of the property.

A brief mention in Lancs OPC, Kenace:-

Marriage: 25 Nov 1735 Holy Trinity, Bolton Le Sands, Lancashire, England
John Johnson - of Rishton House in the parish of Bolton
Anne Sparleing - of Rishton House in the parish of Bolton
    Married by licence
    Register: Marriages 1653 - 1736,

Hi

If it's the actual house you want, I always look on here.  I can't find it on here, but you may know some local terms or an alternative name to put in.

Failing that, I don't know what Lancashire's like, but up here, the record office has  an archive of sales details with index.  You cou could tra Lancashire record office and see what they have, or try putting it in their catalogue online,
