Odesa McFarlane, M. S. McQueen?
Or maybe Odora? Which is a type of plant.

In my infinite wisdom, I thought it looked like Odessa McJubbin :)
All the family seemed to hail from the Glasgow area, and as far back as I've gone, Odessa has never really shown up that often.

I initially thought it was Odesa, but the "s" looks like the "r" in Quarryman.

To me definitely looks like Odora McQueen..... Quite nice writing compared to some lol

lol, Soooooo I might be wrong with McJubbin then?

I agree with Bridget, it's McQueen.

I think the maiden surname is McQueen. The father's occupation appears to be Quarryman, and the two capital 'Q's' seem to match.

The 1851 census transcript has Margaret's mother as Odorris ::) So, somewhere in that range!

Added: 1861, mother shows as Adora.
