Title: Britton Family advice please!!
Post by: kalouk on Friday 30 July 10 22:16 BST (UK)
I wonder if anyone could help me, I am unsure of how to carry on with my tree!
I know my Great Grandfather was Arthur Charles Britton born around 1883, he married Gladys Caris Phillips in 1912 and died in Cardiff Glamorgan in 1955 ( I think) As far as Gladys goes the only way I seem to be able to find her is on her the index of her marriage and her childrens Birth Index with just the name Phillips. I wondered if someone with more experience might have some idea's on how to proceed, with these two as this is a branch of the family I would really like to explore some more!

p.s. I am really new to this so please excuse me if I have missed something glaringly obvious ;D

Thanks!

Have you tried searching for them through the censuses?

I have it brought up two Arthur Charles Brittons but as I don't know the names of siblings etc I don't really know what to do but Gladys is still an enigma to me!! Is this a situation where I would have to buy their marriage certificate? :-\

I would buy the marriage certificate.  You'd then know Arthur and Gladys's ages and their occupations, their addresses, their fathers' names and occupations--and names of witnesses who could be relatives.
