Title: 3rd foot guards

hi   Looking for any info on a Joseph Rowley who I am told served in the 3rd Foot Guards from 1804 to1813. He was born in Eastwood Notts . Anyone any ideas of where to look would be greatly appreciated.

Have you obtained a copy of his army record from The National Archives?

WO 121/128/16 JOSEPH ROWLEY Born EASTWOOD, Nottinghamshire Served in 3rd Foot Guards Discharged aged 26 after 8 years 9 months of service Covering dates give year of enlistment to year of discharge. 1804-1813


JOSEPH ROWLEY
Christening:  22 APR 1787   Eastwood, Nottingham
Father:  MESHACK ROWLEY 
Mother:  ELIZABETH

Hi Squinth,
I suppose you know the 3rd. foot guards are known today as the Scots Guards and previously the Scots Fusilier Guards, They like all the other Guards Regiments have their HQ at Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk , London and help can be obtained there also.
 From the dates of his enlistment to demobilisation it is likely he fought in the Peninsular Campaigns in Spain and France.

He fought in the Peninsular War, being present at Talavera, Fuentes D'Onoro & Ciudad Rodrigo, according to the MGS medal roll.
Hence he was certainly still alive in 1848.

Hi my Great Grandfather ( Francis Elijah Fearn ) son of Lydia Fearn and reportedly ( bit mysterious) Edmund Rowley  do you have any information on this please as its unknown why Edmund and Lydia never married, Edmund died when Francis was about 2yrs

My cousin went back through Edmund Rowley parents and grandparents etc, any information about Meshack?
