Hi,
I am just starting to look at some family tree research for my partners 83 year old grandfather. He wants to find out more about Margaret Hindmarsh, a lady he met during his time in the merchant navy during the war in Australia.
He is really keen to find out what happened to her but I'm not sure if anyone out there can help. She apparently lived in a place called Woolloomooloo which I think is close to Sydney.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Mel

Hi
You could begin your search here on nSW BDM
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/Index/IndexingOrder.cgi/search?event=births
I did see there a death which is a pssibility
Reg. 4193 In 1968 HINDMARSH MARGARET father ALFRED mother MARGARET KENDALL at SYDNEY .
But without knowing her parents' names it is difficult.
Did MARGARET by any chance have brothers in the forces at the time?
Are you able to offer an approximate birhdate?

Hi Sue,
Thank you for your advice on this one. We think she was born around 1925 as she was of similar age to my partner's grandfather.
I will see if he can remember anything else bearing in mind his memory is quite erratic at times now.
Kind regards,
Mel
