Hi Rick

There are only two Thompson Browns listed in the Skipton area around that time.  The one that Calverley found who lived in Kettlewell and one born 1859 who lived in Glusburn.  Both villages were within the parish of Skipton.  Have you any further details to help us help you?

This suggests the Tasmanian Thompson Brown was from Ireland:

The Kettlewell Thompson seems a strong candidate for the 1844 birth. How do you know that one is yours?

Looking further into Thompson Brown, he had a son and called him Thompson.
Both died in the area.

Can you let us know exactly what you know about your Thompson Brown?

Does his death or marriage certificate give his father's name? Do you know his place or date of birth? When and where is the first reference to him?

Richard
