Hi blue penner,
don't know if you want census info or whether you are looking for contacts but there is a family of Pinborough on the 1851 index of Norfolk and here they are. If you do want further census I have the 1841 and 1861.
Richard Pinborough 49 ag lab b. Rickinghall, Suffolk
Ann Pinborough 50 b. Eye , Suffolk
Elizabeth " 16 b. Scole, Nfk
Charlotte " 14 b. Scole, Nfk
Living Scole, Depwade, Norfolk
Let me know if you need another lookup.

Hi Angela.
Thank you for your time and trouble, that is so kind.
Yes I wouldnt mind, any information on the Pinborough name. Its such a unusal name, that I am sure any I come accross must fit in somewhere.
Thanks again

Bad news I'm afraid. the copy of Scoles in 1841 is barely readable on my discs. Maybe some one with a better copy might find them for you.
couldn't find them in 1861 ???
Tried the 1871 and nothing
1881 and I found a Richard Pimborough age 78 b. Rickinghall, suffolk an inmate at the Union Workhouse, Eye, Suffolk He was a retired ag lab and a widow.
Found a death entry for Richard Mar qtr 1881 Hartismere dist. suffolk. He was age 81 ?
Don't know if you have seen this but there is an ancestral file on the LDS site of Richard Pinborough submitted by a Walter Pinborough in the USA he has quite a bit of info on the family. And an address to contact him on. Might be worth a look.
All the best Angela.

Hello folks
I'm not a PINborough, but a PIMborough! ;)
Living in Lancashire married to Julie with 2 daughters Claire & Charlotte.
My father & mother live in Lancashire as well, Robert & Hilda.
Can anyone provide more info on the origins of our wonderful name - many thanks.
Glen.

Hi Glen
Nice to hear from another Pin (PIM) borough.
We are most likely related, as I have been resarching this name for about 40 years, and have a vast amount of PINs and PIMs, and have managed to fit them all in my tree. I was in touch with a number of Pimboroughs up till a couple of years ago, but having moved, have now lost contact with them.
If you would like to give me a few more details, I will see what I have. Who were your Grandparent, or even your Gt Grandparents.
Kind Regards
David

Hi David
I have a feeling you may have been in contact with my Dad, Robert John Pimborough born in Beaumaris, Anglesey - now living in Leigh Lancashire. He has 2 brothers Gerald (other I dont know) My grand-dad was Robert as well - born in Suffolk.
I have a brother and sister named Steven & Ann who live in Chesterfield & York respectively.
..and to be honest thats all I know - have been meaning to go more in depth for years, but as I'm sure you can appreciate Dave not really had the time.
If you have a family tree I would be totally fascinated to learn more.
Regards Glen.

Hi Glen
Yes I was in contact with your Dad, and visited Ellen Pimborough a few times at Beaumaris. Is Ellen still alive. She gave me some lovely photos of her family and her parents and grandparents. It was your father that interviewed my brother in the RAF in Ceylon back in the late 50s.
Yes I do have a family tree, and it is very large at present. I can reduce it as you wouldn't need all of it.
Have you any suggesting on how I can send you it, as I don't think it could be done through here.
Do you use any family history programs to store your tree on?.
Kind regards
David

David
yes thats my father, i'll PM you his email address as I have converted him to the wonders of the internet. He's best updating you regarding Ellen as I'm not too sure.
I'll PM my email address perhaps you could email what info you can share.
I'm at work at the moment (in Huddersfield) about to make my way home to Leigh (Lancashire), so you may not hear from me for a couple of hours
Many thanks for sharing in anticipation.
Regards Glen.

Typed in Pimborough on web for fun yesterday and came across this site.
My grandfather was George Edward Pimborough, born in Suffolk, and moved to Beaumaris as a family when he was a boy; where he followed in my great grandfather's footsteps as head gamekeeper for sir Richard Bukley.
He had 2 children, my mother Margaret (still living in North Wales) and my uncle, George (now living in Eastleigh). Unfortunately my uncle doesn't have any children so that spells the end of the Pimborough lineage descending from George Edward.

Hi Dave
Thanks for that.
I visited his old house a couple of years ago, and met Ellen Pimborough his daughter. She gave me some lovely photos of her father and other relations.
I also have his family tree, which you are welcome to have.

Hello David
I am very new to this, but was pointed to this web site by a friend. My husband Derek's grandmother was Gladys Pimborough - George's daughter. She was born in Oakley Suffolk 1901, and moved to Beaumaris with her father & family. Derek met Ellen many years ago but knows nothing of the rest of the family. It would be great to talk to someone who knows more about this.
What happens now? Can we contact you - or you contact us? We live in Bexhill-on-Sea.

Hi derekcgg,
A very warm welcome to Rootschat. I'm sure you will find some very helpful members here.
Regarding your post to David - I see he hasn't been on-line since 2005 so it may be he won't see your posting.
To see when a member was last on-line just click on the persons name/tag and a new window will popup revealing when they were last on Rootschat.
To contact a member using the Private Messaging system you have to make at least 3 postings. If you reply to this message that will give you 2 so only one more is required.
So we can search some more , can you give some details such as ages, names, and locations. Please
don't list living persons etc.
It appears as if her parents were George Pimborough, born about 1874 in Denham, Suffolk and his wife Susannah born about 1880 in Frenze, Norfolk.
Does this fit with information you know of?
Hope this helps you on your way.
Alan

Hi Christine,
We have been unable to contract David for you as he has changed email address and not kept us upto date with his new one. :'( Had a good google as he has given his full name but the only postings I can see and from a few years ago.

Hi Christine,
Out of curiosity I Googled David Pinborough, there are a couple of mentions that might help you track him down, one of which is that there is a David Pinborough on Facebook, if you are on Facebook he might be worth a try. Might be worth you Googling him yourself.
Regards.
