I am trying to find out more about a relative. ERNEST JOSEPH COUSINS of the King's (Liverpool Regiment) 7th Battalion. He was born in Wexford in 1897 and died on 28th June 1916. He was killed in action in France and Flanders.

If I have the right one, he is on CWGC as Joseph Ernest Cousins:

On SDGW as Ernest Joseph Cousins, born Kilmore, Wexford.
On his medal index card he is Ernest Cousins.
His service record is on Ancestry, but says that he was born in Bootle.

Thank you. This is him. He was brought up as a 'nurse child' by my grandmother's family as his mother was from Ireland and 'in service'. They listed him as born in Liverpool where the rest of their family were born.

Just had a peek at the service record. There are 2 addresses in L'Pool and one in Wexford for his mother Mary. There is also another address for his father who was sent his medals. Would you like me to PM them.

Yes please! How did you know his father was sent his medals?
Many thanks.

Have sent PM. There was a memo within the service records stating his father was the recipient of Ernest's medals.
