Hi,
I hope someone can help me - I'm trying to find the record of the death of my gg grandmother. My mother tells me she died giving birth to her uncle John William Evans. Her mother, Nellie and aunt Margaret, went to live with various members of Ann's family in Northop afterwards which I have found on ancestry and I've found baby John William living with family friends, the Parrys, on the 1901 census along with her husband, William, now a widower, living in Bagilt. But I can't find her death recorded anywhere. Any ideas where to look?
Many Thanks!

Hi
What about this one on freebmd
Ann Evans aged 40 December qtr 1900 Holywell 11b 147
You have to consider that she may not necessarily have died whilst giving birth - perhaps she died as the results of the birth but sometime later

Wow! That was quick - thank you! I can't believe I missed that. Thank you again

http://northwalesbmd.org.uk/ shows 2 Ann Evans deaths in 1900. Also 2 births of John William Evans, one in 1898 and one in 1899.
Your best bet is to phone the Register Office at Mold to sort out which is which. The birth should be easy as you know the name of the father and presumably have some idea of the address. For the death you could also use the address and ask for the name of the informant. Also, the cause of death and the lady's age should help you work it out.

Sorry Carole; you're obviously ahead of me on the death of Ann Evans. FreeBMD shows the one in the March quarter as being 33 yrs old, so the one you chose appears to be the correct one. ::)
It might still be a good idea for Phoenix to check on the birth of John William.

Thank you for your help. I will give Mold office a ring as suggested just to confirm.
