Hello and welcome to rootschat.
This post would be best in a new thread and then people can help you with the Prout family.
I hope a moderator will split the thread for you(or something similar :D)
In the meantime, Free BMD indexes has a marriage in 1922 which I assume are your grandparents. http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
You could start with sending for that certificate to get their fathers' names.
You can also search the indexes of 1911 census http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx and then download the information for a fee.
best wishes

Hi,
A Big Welcome to RootsChat! ;D
The name seems to appear in the Camelford district.
I see the birth and death of a Frederick Chenoweth (and variants) PROUT in 1853 and then another birth Sep 1/4 1854 5c 14 in Camelford
also note a marriage in Camelford Dec 1/4 1896 5c 19
Also death of a Frederick PROUT Sep 1/4 1900 Camelford aged 47 so all fits
Looking at 1901 I suspect his wife was Eliza LANGDON She appears in 1901 in St Teath with her family. She is aged 32 a widow. She has three children Frederic 4, Richard 2 and Samuel 2 months.
I wonder if this 4 year old may be the person you are after.
Cornwall census is free online so you could follow the parents from 1841-1891

As Heywood has said you will need that certificate to confirm fathers name etc
Frederick C PROUT = Agnes R STEEN Sep 1/4 1922 W Derby 8b 1305
you can order it from

Hi, I am the grandaughter of Samuel Yarwith Prout, brother of Frederick Chenowerth and Richard. Val Strickland contacted my brother a few years back although the email address bounced back. I recall meeting an uncle Fred Prout in Bootle many years back - I guess he was a child of Frederick and Agnes. I have family information and all seems to fit in with your information from Prouts to Langdon and more. Hopefully contact can be made to complete family tree as we have no contact with many of Grandad Sams side of the family
