I would be very grateful if anyone who is going to Ashby de la Zouch Parish Churchyard could keep a look out for the burials of Robert NEWEY & Alice NEWEY.
They were buried in the 1830s (according to the NBI-3)and I need to link the two people together as I am hoping they are a married couple and the gravestone may show this.
Any other info from the gravestone would be very useful indeed.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Shirley

Hi Shirley
I have a recent copy of the 'Memorial Inscriptions of Ashby de la Zouch' CD produced by their Museum. There is no mention or picture of a gravestone for Newey at either St Helen's or Holy Trinity.
I have found the Museum most helpful in the past.
Ask them to see if they can help - their fees (a donation) are very reasonable:

Good luck

Hi Jim.
Thank you very much for your reply. I shall pass it on to my friend (ladydot) as they are her direct ancestors. I am helping her with her research as she isn't very confident on computers.
I noticed on your message you are researching family in Melksham - so am I.
I am looking mainly for the BURBIDGEs and STEVENS families. I haven't found any WOODMANs in my tree yet, but you never know.......
Regards,
Shirley
