Can anyone help me trace a Dorothy Wood born about 1782 in Bingham Notts. Died in 1861 in Derby. Married Samuel Beighton in 1816 in Derby.
Thanks
Dave

Hi
What kind of tracing are you after - pre or post marriage?
Indexed as Beeton in 1851 and a widow but she is 56 so her birthyear is 1795 - not 1782. Children Sarah 21 and William 17 living with her - both b Derbyshire

Indexed as Brighton in 1841 - no Samuel - Dorothy is 44 so birthyear 1797.
Additional children were Thomas aged 20 and Mary aged 5

The IGI also has submitted entries for a son Robert christened 2.4.1820 plus Thomas 13.3.1825 in St Alkmund
There is an extracted IGI record for a John Beeton 5.10.1817 - same parents names but in Shirley

Thanks Carol for the info.
I am now looking for details of her birth, parents etc. The details from the 1841 census for Duke Street Derby give her age as 59. (Could this be 39). The 1861 census, 12 Edward Street, gives her age as 66. I know her husband died in 1837.
There are a good number of Woods in Bingham at that time but I can't find a Dorothy.
Regards
Dave

No they don't - she is 44yrs old on the image and that is reflected in the birthyear of 1797 shown on the index for the entry

Sorry Carole,
I'm getting old. The print I have of the 1841 census is not good and 44 looks like 66. Where I got 59 from I don't know. Anyway thanks for your help.
Regards Dave.
