Hi all
Been a while since i have done any research but have got back into it ..... sort of. At the moment i have been asked by the local council to research my house so i can get something put in the archives. I have a copy of the certificate of titles but not sure what i can do next.
I live in the Lake Macquarie Council area in New South Wales Australia.
Any suggestions i can get would be appreciated.....online if possible.
Thanks
Jaki

Hi Jaki - have you tried the National Library of Australia website "Trove"?
This might come up with some names/dates of people who used to live in your house...

Would local utilities have names of previous occupants?

Hi Jaki
What sort of research are the council looking for? They would or should have details of the various owners, and plans and building permits etc. Is it a particularly old house?

The house in question was built around 1890 and is an original building. Before they will allow us to demolish it and rebuild they want a heritage archive done.
Have looked at the Trove site but am finding it difficult to find my way around searching.
