Hi,
I have an Amy GREEN:
b. 1814
Moatfield, Kildare, Ireland
d. 28 May 1846
Ireland
She married Henry Rochford FITZMAURICE in 1841. Can anyone find record of who her parents were?
Thanks,
Rose-Twig :)

I've just replied on your other thread for Henry Rochford -
www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,465338.msg3258731.html#msg3258731Fitzmaurice
The link I gave there lists wife Leonora Farley but not Amy.
Civil registration of births, deaths and Catholic marriages started in 1864 (from 1845 for other marriages) so you'd need to search for church records (if they exist).

Henry Rochford Fitzmaurice is in my tree. The parents of Amy Greene were John Greene born 1782 married 11th November, 1807 died on 24th December 1851 in Berkeley, VA, USA. He married Amy Greene born 1786 Dublin and died 19th August 1818. Do you need information further back than this, ie their parents?

Hi Kilbie,
Thank you so much for your reply. I would love as much information as you are willing and able to share on this branch of my/our family tree!!! :)
Many thanks,
Rose-Twig.

Amy Greene who married Henry Rochfort Fitzmaurice had a sister, Mary Abigail who married Charles LeClere, a brother Robert, a brother Johne and another sister Mary Anne. Her mother Amy, was the daughter of Robert Greene and she was born in Dublin. I am not sure what kind of relations Amy's mother and father were as they were both Greenes.
Amy, wife of Henry died in Dundrum, Dublin on 21st September, 1848. They had three children Amy, Leonora and Henrietta. I haven't the death dates for any of these three so if you can share these, it would be great. Henry and Amy lived at Ardnehue, Co Carlow. They had 65 acres if land. Henry was the 7th son of John and he died in Brighton, Melbourne of a chronic disease of the brain which he had had for 5 years. He must have left ireland shortly after Amy's death possibly around 1851. He married Leonore Farley in 1853 and had six children. I have death dates for all except Eva Eugenie so would love that one! According to my records only John Alfred and Clara married but I could be wrong! Clara appears to have had 7 children.

Hi Kilbie,
Thanks for the extra information!
According to a family tree collated by an unknown relative handed to me by my dad Henry's wife Amy died on the 28 May 1846 in Ireland, however you have her dying in Dundrum, Dublin on 21st September, 1848??? Are you able to confirm your date?
The same family tree listed the following information for Amy and Henry's children:
FITZMAURICE, Henriette
• b. 1843
o Carlow, Ireland
• d. 1857
o Victoria, Australia
FITZMAURICE, Amy
• b. 1845
o Carlow, Ireland
• d. Victoria, Australia?
FITZMAURICE, Leonora
• b. 1846
o Carlow, Ireland
• d. 28 May 1908
o Mt McDonald, New South Wales
o Died at home - Royal Exchange Hotel (owned by husband Thomas). Buried Cowra, NSW.
• m. EVANS, Thomas, 09 Feb 1864, Lexton, Beaufort, Victoria
I don't have a death date for Eva Eugenie either.
I hope some of this information helps you in return.
Many thanks,
Rose-Twig :)

Hi,
I know the death date of Amy Green because it appeared in the Carlow Sentinel newspaper. The notice also stated that she died after a long illness at Thornhill, Dundrum, Co Dublin on 21st September, 1848. For your records, all three daughters were christened at St Catherine's Church of Ireland, on 3rd December, 1848. It's a puzzle as to why all three children were baptized on this date and not when they were born. Check out www.irishgenealogy.ie and you will see these three entries. It shows their mother as Amy but strangely doesn't mention the mother as 'deceased'. Their place of residence is Sally Park.
Where does your family fit into this tree? I have a note that Amy Green (the daughter) married John Phillips but I have no further information.
Many thanks for your information.

Hi,
Thanks for the link. My family stem from Leonora Fitzmaurice and Thomas Evans, hence I have a fair bit of info for Leonora's branch, but not the other girls.
However, there is a note on the tree I was given that says Amy married ?? Phillips a tea taster round Melbourne. No research has been done on Amy.
Hope this helps,
Rose-Twig.

We received a chunk of the tree from Susanne, a descendant of Leonora's son Thomas who married Alice. Are you in touch with her? She has Amy who married J. Philllips and had William and Arthur. We didn't know that he was a tea taster from Melbourne. She gave us details about 14 children by Leonora who married T. Evans.
