Does anyone have info on the parents of James Winslade born c.1790 or perhaps 1794 in Bridgewater, Sommerset Uk?
He married Sarah. I believe they had four children.

christened 23rd October 1791 at St Mary Magdalene church , Richmond , Surrey

ADDED....there is another in 1797....parents ...Samuel and Sarah....15th November , Farnham, Surrey
both records are EXTRACTED .....allan ;)

I wonder if he could have been born in bridgewater and then baptised in surrey. Thanks for this possible lead as it would be very interesting if we could find his line back. JAcqui

James gives his place of birth as Bridgewater, Somerset on Census entries.
Try;

Hi
Do remember that the IGI is not full coverage and Somerset is one of the counties that is not well indexed. You need to look at the original church register for Bridgewater. You can order the film to search at your nearest LDS family history centre (listed on www.familysearch.org) if nobody one here has access to it.

From FreeREG there was a James and Elizabeth having children in Bridgewater in the right time-frame.
As Andrea so correctly stated there may be others in Bridgewater as well so Parish Records are the way to go.
Having said that these are the children to JAMES and ELIZABETH baptised St James, Bridgewater;
JAMES, 20 March 1795*
ANN, 08 February 1793 ( Mother Betty)
SARAH, 03 March 1797
JOHN, 24 July 1799 ( Mother Betty)
If you want to find Sarahs maiden name then one of the children born post 1837's Birth Certs will give it.
1841 Census they have children;
Henry 1827
Maria 1831
Jeffrey 1840
1851 Census;
Emma 1833
Jeffery 1841
Sophia 1844
Clara 1846
1861 Clara is at home.
It is possible Maria and Emma are the same person as ages were rounded to nearest 5 in the 1841 Census.

Thanks Trish, I think this matches the children all fit except the parents, Jmes fits with info I had but I had a Sarah , not an Elizabeth marrying James.
I wonder if you could restate who you understood James Winslade (b.c1790-74 Bridgewater) married you think.
I thought it was a Sarah (b. c1791-97 Bridgewater) but perhaps I was wrong. I am a little unclear on this if you wouldnt mind reminding me what you think and perhaps where you found that again please. Jeffrey their son is the line of Winslades I am following back.
Thanks again.

thank you i now made sense of the info, so i think you can disregard my last post, thank you very much. jacqui

I hope you have it Jacqui ;)
Yes, James born c 1794 married Sarah.
To establish her maiden name you need a birth cert of either Jeffrey/Sophia or Clara.
Then we can hopefully find the Marriage of James Jnr and Sarah.
The James and Elizabeth info I posted are probably James Jnrs Parents as the christening fits his dob/pob from census entries. Betty is a pet name for Elizabeth so the 4 christenings are probably to the same couple.

Hi Trish, would all this Info be from Free REG site resources. Is that right please.
Thank you very much
Jacqui
Do you know if it would be easy enough to get the parents of JAmes then or am I moving to quick?

Yes, all baptisms FreeREG.
I would wait til you get a Birth Cert to confirm Sarahs maiden name first before trying to go back further.
Then finding the Marriage Record of James/Sarah could provide clues to their Parents.
As Andrea said maybe ordering the Bridgwater Records from Familysearch may be another option.
