Title: 109th Foot Crowhurst, Surrey

Hi
Can anybody help me find any more info on my gggrandfather Edward Bashford b 1849 who was a private in 109th Foot, he lived in Crowhurst Surrey, anything at all would be great.

hi,,he joined the 109th in 1867,,,,served till 1888....spent 10 years in India. ;)

Try findmypast.com - chelsea pensioners.
There are 9 pages of information on him, his next of kin, his medical records, his postings and the best one,a physical description of him ie height, hair and eye colour, they spelt his surname wrong ....but that's not unusual, right birth year, regiment and place he joined up:

BESHFORD Edward 1849 Linkfield, Surrey 109th Foot 1883-1900

you do not have to subscribe,,,you can just buy enough credits to view the record  ;)

Bev,

Edward was fair haired, hazel eyed, same height as me....5ft 4.5 inches, it would be worth spending money on those credits.

 I did the same for one of my elusive ancestors and it was well worth it. Makes you feel as though you know them better. 9 pages is worth it....I only had four pages but i learnt a lot.
