Hi All
I am quite new to serching my family, okay on some parts but having difficulty with my London side of the tree.
All i know is that my grandma`s parents were Ernest Matthew Woodbine b abt 1890 in Newington and married Eizabeth J Bennett on the 23 dec 1910, she was born i believe abt 1887, the only other thing i have been told is his farther was called James.
If any one can help or give advice where to find out about them, as i have tryed a few census a seem to get stuck, thanks in advance.

Ms Bennett may prove to be more of a challenge - depends on a couple of things like stated age being correct, and can one assume she was from the area?
Probably easiest to use the 1911 census to obtain her birthplace etc?
-
eliza consistently gives her birthplace as newington.. ;)

Thanks eyeryone
All i got of mam before she died was that they were all from lamberth, newington all stayed there till somehow elizabeth jane woodbine moved here to north east and married fred simm my grandad, mam always had to go to london to see any of them

prior to a 1912 Southwark District birth, Mrs Woodbine is just using 'Jane' - and has a brother George staying.

Think I've got her now - just using Jane in both 1891 and 1901.
That Birth entry you mentioned in Southwark St Saviour seems correct, albeit late 1888, it matches her age on the census OK.
Let me know if you want it transcribed ?
