Please can anyone tell me what happened to Springfield Street.

I will go to the library.

If you search Springfield Street, Leamington Priors, on Google Books there seem to be quite a few mentions..but not sure if it will tell you what happened to it

I went to Warwick Records Office today and saw a map of the area. It was redeveloped in 1886 and the street is now called Shrubland Street.

Thank you very much Carol. I will be making a short visit to the area soon and will now have some idea where my ancestors lived.
Best wishes. RBC.

I stumbled over this same problem when looking for the Langdon family, who had a Inn there call the Joiner's Arms. Things like this really complicate life for Genealogists!
-
Hello,
I just wondered if you have a photograph of The Joiner's Arms.

If you search "Joiners Arms Shrubland Street Leamington Spa" in google maps, they have an image of it on Street View. Judging by the age of the building, I suspect it's the original pub. You'll probably need to rotate the image around to view as it defaults to the other side of the road.

Thank you smudwhisk. If Langdon-Northamp hadn't got a photograph I was going to mention the ones on line. I had forgotten you find almost any area on Google maps.
