I am interested in an Elizabeth Roberts who was living in Chester in 1881. Her place of birth has been transcripted as "Rnolton, Flintshire" however it is more likely to be Knolton. In 1829 (her dob) Knolton would have been in the parish of Bangor-Is-Coed (Bangor-on-Dee/Bangor Monachorum). On the Bishop Transcripts (available on www.familysearch.org pilot site) there is a christening record dated 5 Apr 1829 parents John & Mary Roberts. However their residence is given as "Bosley, Ches". The only Bosley I know of is near Macclesfield, about 46 miles away.
Is there another locality called Bosley and is it anywhere near Knolton?
Thanks

Hi
This question puzzled me too but i think I might have the answer, in the wiki.familysearch.org is the following sentence under known issues:
"In a number of microfilms the place data entry fields where more than one parish is itemised on the microfilm have the first place name entry entered for all parishes. This human error is difficult to fix and FamilySearch was aware of several of these errors at the time of publication online."
I believe from searching that there can be no other explanation for Bosley in relation to Bangor Is-coed, unless someone else knows differently I could find no trace of a Bosley in that area.
Hope that helps.

Knolton was a township of the Overton parish. The site won't let me post the link for the Overton Genuki page.

Looking at the 1881 Census entry there is a line drawn through Elizabeth's age but I think it could well be 30 which would give her birthyear as c 1851.Bearing in mind her stated birthplace as Knolton this could well be her living in Knolton Overton in the 1861 Census with parents Thomas and Sarah Roberts.
RG09/1881/10/14.

Thanks. This does shed a new light on my research. But even if I have the wrong Elizabeth Roberts it does mean I needn't spend any more time following this line.
