Thank you Sue, but what I was really after was anything on the RUTTER family after they moved to Wickhambrook. I have picked some of them up on the 1871 but have no idea where [or if] they fit into my RUTTERS.

Again thanks

Chris

I checked the 1841 census for Wickhambrook.  There are Rutters in the village at that time bur couldn't see any with the names you mentioned.

Thanks Sue,
makes me wonder what happened to the boys, the girls I presume must have married, no sign of them in Cambridge either. Possibly they died.

Thanks for taking the trouble to look again.

The parents of JANE RUTTER (William & Peggy) were transported to Australia for larceny for a period of 7 years and the never returned.  I believe this was in 1838.

I think Emma married a Richard Dutton in Jul/Aug/Sep 1841

There is a marriage for an Emma Rutter in that quarter, Risbridge Reg District, ref 12 565. The transcription shows 3 brides and 2 bridegrooms, so something is amiss.

There is a marriage for a Richard Dalton, same quarter, same Reg District. Transcription gives ref no as 12 595 and has "married him up" to a Harriet Furnis. However, looking at the image, the ref is actually 12 565, same as Emma Rutter, and not 12 595 at all.

1851 has Richard and Emma Dutton (not Dalton) and 4 children (oldest age9) in Wickhambrook. Emma is 28 and born Wickhmambrook, so fits nicely with Emma Rutter.

Hi, my husband is descended from another of the daughters (Jane Rutter) who married George Argent in Wickhambrook in 1837.

Both the parents as stated above were transported for 7 years for stealing ducks.

About 1857 or so it seems that Jane and George Argent move to Great Wratting, where one of their daughters, Emma Argent, marries a John Cornell.

Thanks,

Charlotte Cornell

John and Emma  would be my great great grandparents through George b. 1860 and Sarah Beavis.
Any idea who got transported to Australia then maybe I can look them up from over here.

Thank

Chris
