Title: KYLES - MCFARLANE
Post by: Glenda46 on Tuesday 15 June 10 11:18 BST (UK)
;D Just had to do some quick SOL searching to keep my credits alive, however SPENT them ;D and got info I've been looking for... Finally found my Judy KYLES died 1873 unfortunately no details on her parents etc. Then found her youngest child Mary-Ann KYLES (born 1858-1860) marrying John McFARLANE of Bowfield Lochwinnock. She gives mothers name a Julia KYLES MS looks like CAIRNS...... all other records have shown her as being PATERSON. Never been able to find her marriage to Angus KYLES cir 1848 -1850.... Do you thing she had been married before and PATERSON was her married name?  Oh sorry this is getting long.. ::).. What I want is to find children of Mary-Ann Kyles and John McFarlane, have searched and heaps of McFarlane children born in the correct areas and I have just spent double my allocation of $$$'s. Is there anyone out there kind enough with a full subscription who could help. I am coming to Scotland next year and would like to have as much info as possible before going to Registry House.... Glenda

1861 Census, Howwood, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire
Angus Kyle, 60, Ireland
Judith Kyle 44 Lochwinnoch
Rose Anna Kyle, 11, Irvine, Ayrshire
Mary Ann, 2 Lochwinnoch

Mary Ann Kyles born 1858 Howwood, parents Angus Kyles & Judy Kyles, ms Paterson

Not exactly what you were asking for, but I hope it helps.

Kathy

Thanks have that........  ;D

I have for years been trying to find a marriage of Angus KYLES and Judy/Judith PATERSON Cir 1859 time Rose Anna was born in Irvine and am now wondering IF I should be trying to find Judy as a CAIRNS?? I have an Angus KYLE marrying a Mary STEWART in Renfrew in 1840 which means she would have had to have died before 1859 it doesn't show on the record I have whether he is a widower. May have to look at the actual OPR records. My next mission although have tried on several occasions is to try to find a marriage for Rose Anna. Trouble is each time I "look" at the records it costs me quite a bit of money currency exchange wise..

Scotland's People is pay per view for everyone but there are hints for getting the best results from searches which might make it easier for you to find information-

I do realise that and have been using it for years. I will check out the "hints" but I think I am using them already, just happens to be several entries for the names I am looking at in the tight time frame I am using. Like the McFarlane births there were 7 within the 5 year range and all the children s names were 99% possible for the family I was looking for, and the areas were correct however all 7 children turned out to be children on the brothers of the man I am researching. So that just ate my $$$$$'s. Thanks for your help will start saving for the next effort.. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It is difficult when the family all seem to use the same names for their many children, live in the same area, etc. but in that case it's not likely anyone else will have better luck finding the ones that you are looking for.

Can you tell me on a full year subscription do you still have to pay for viewing of documents??? The cost of a full year sub is about 1 week of my pension but could save for it if that payment would be "all inclusive" because I have a heap to do to get everything as up to date as possible before I go overseas.. I would like to try to get thru to living cousins which would be awesome to try and meet some...

Not sure what site you are talking about but Scotland's People website is pay per view, not subscription-
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

The birth, marriage, death certificates are indexed up to 2006 now but if it's a birth record less than 100 years old, a marriage record less than 75 years old and a death record less than 50 years old, the results page will indicate that the image is unavailable on line and the item has to be ordered differently.
