Hi
Thanks to some great assistance from RC I am now looking for some more information on Christopher Knight. He was born in Cornwall UK in approx 1857, travelled to Australia where he married in 1884 and then went to South Africa to mine for gold in approx 1890. The information that I have been given is that he supposedly died there in approx 1893, but that is unsure.
Are there any records of the arrival, death or departure of this man please?
Any assistance would be very welcome.
Thanks Daree

Hi I found a document in this archive when I typed in the name. Try this link. http://www.national.archsrch.gov.za/sm300cv/smws/sm200gi.
Then click on the RSA repository box, when it opens type in Knight Christopher and enter. A list of documents will appear, just click on Result Summary.Appears he died in 1936 in Natal South Africa.Cheers Derek

Hi Derek
What a great site. I was not aware that it existed. Could you assist me with some of the terms please? What is s/s and what does it mean with the start and end dates? I am not too sure whether this is the correct person that I am looking for, but certainly could be. This one is down as being born in Flodin, but not too sure where that is. I am doubtful that it is in Cornwall. Is there anywhere else in this site to hunt for further information?
Hope to hear back from you again.
Thanks
Daree

Hi PM
Yes that is the right person. Tracking him from Australia to South Africa is the challenge. I have a lot of information on the rest of the family, but he is still a bit of a question mark. Do you have anything that could help me find out his actual year and place of death? So far it is a lot of guesswork.
Regards
Daree
