Hi,
Is there anyone around that lives near St Elphins Church please?
Most of my Bibby & Savage families were parishoners here, I have Christenings, Marriages and Burials there.
Does anyone know what condition the gravestones are in?
I cant get there very easily, so I wanted to see what condition the graves are in before I persuade someone to take me.
I looked on Google to see if I could tell, I can see there are some headstones standing, but as the church is set back from the road you cant actually 'look' in from Google Street view.
Thanks
Gaille

Virtually all the headstones in St. Elphin's churchyard were removed to make maintenance easier.
A few were used to make paths, but the text from those is inevitably being worn away, so you need to be really lucky to find any relative.
