Can someone look up a birth. Robert McClure only have year 1848 Belfast. died 7 June 1910 Belfast. Thanks Chevron

Civil registration of births in Ireland started in 1864 so for earlier dates you need to search for church records (if they exist). To find church records you need to know the family's religion and where they lived- unfortunately there are dozens of possible churches in Belfast.

Thanks for the reply.I know Robert was married at St.Enoch Presbyterian Church Belfast, as that Church is closed I have no means of checking.Chevron

Marriages usually took place in the bride's church so hard to tell if he would have belonged to St. Enoch's. Marriage certificate will list groom's residence- have you been able to use that adddress to find any more details? What about father's name and occupation?

I applied for Roberts Marriage cert. address given as Belfast. Fathers name John McClure farmer, no mention of Mother. date of marriage 4 February 1875 Chevron

Still looking for birth details of G.grandfather Robert McClure. according to the 1901 census he is listed as 49 years old. making him born 1852. At time of death June 1910 he was listed as 62 years old making him born 1848. I have only him listed as being born Co Antrim. Presbyterian.
Fathers name John McClure [farmer] have no information on Robert's Mother or any other siblings.
Robert was married in St.Enoch's Presbyterian Ch. 4 February 1875 the Church he belonged to.
Hoping someone visiting PRONI could do a lookup for me, as Im in Canada

PRONI is actually closed until April 2011 in preparation for their move to a new site. The microfilmed copies of church records are available at Cregagh Library in Belfast, however, you would need to know which church and then check to see if records exist for the date you need before expecting someone to start search for a baptismal record.
