I am trying to find the head stone of my grandparents grave, I recently found out that they are buried at St Mary's, I live in the Uk and would be willing to do research in exchange for a photograph of the Head stone.
Their Names are James and Elizabeth Inglis, James died in 1966 and Elizabeth died in 1986.
I know that the St May's church cemetery is at 310 Hill St, Plainfield 07062
Kind regards Sharon

Have you tried contacting a library in Plainsfield. Piscataway or nearby where you might be able to ask someone to look the obituaries up for you ? It might be worth an e-mail to ask. ???

I'm am leaving next week to visit family in NJ and will be stopping at the cemetery during my stay. It's a small cemetery and no trouble at all to look/photograph it for you. Let me know.

I have great grandparents buried at this cemetery as well. I was wondering if you don't mind looking to see if you can find their headstones as well when you're looking for this one?
Their last name are Guidetta. First name is Antonio and Theresa.
Hopefully you can find Tegan's grandparents too. :)

The private message system only works if the poster has at least 3 posts, so stellamaire would need to make 2 more posts for it to work.

Hi Sharon
I'll let you know what I find, and if successful some photos.
It'll probably take 3 weeks or so.

OK I'll look for your Guidetta's too.
Do you know the year of death for Antonio and Theresa ?
That'll help me find the headstone.

Hi Mary,
No I don't know the death year. I have been trying to find some kind of record like obituaries of them but nothing. :( This is why I wanted to see their headstone and hope the Full date is on there. I would assume their death date is in the 1960s from what I heard from family but no one remembers the exact date.
Thank you for being willing to look for me.

Hello Tegan (Sharon)
I found the headstone for your grandfather James T. Inglis 1918-1966 at
St. Mary's cemetery, Plainfield, New Jersey. But it is a single headstone with James' name only. There is no other stone nearby with Elizabeth's name.
I have photo of James' headstone, but "attach a photograph" option doesn't seem to work for me ??? And I see you cannot attach to a PM. Any advice on how to attach photo would be helpful !
James' death record :
James Inglis, DOB 17 June 1918, SSN issued in New York,
last residence Piscataway (Middlesex County), New Jersey
Death date June 1966, age 48
Elizabeth's death record :
Elizabeth Inglis, DOB 3 Aug 1910, SSN issued in New York,
last residence Plainfield (Union County), New Jersey
Death date Jan 1986, age 76
Middlesex County and Union County are neighboring counties in Central Jersey.
Also you asked about St. Peter's Hospital in a previous thread... St. Peter's Hospital is in New Brunswick (Middlesex County). I was born at St. Peter's and grew up in South Plainfield (Middlesex County), so I know the area quite well.

Hello Lnanaa (Lauren)
I found your ggrandparents and 5 more of your family at St. Mary's Cemetery, Plainfield, NJ. There is a group of 5 markers for the Giuditta's: 3 headstones and 2 footstones. Yes the spelling on all the stones "Giuditta".
So here’s what I found and photographed :
1) Giuditta main headstone : I thought it was interesting that this headstone
is engraved Giuditta on front and back. Never noticed back engraving at
any other cemetery before. But did find back engraving on a few other
headstones at St. Mary's. Kind of unusual I think, but made it easier to
find.
2) Giuditta slanted headstone
Harry Anthony May 30, 1910 – May 21, 1996
Bernice Powers Feb 25, 1912 – Dec 17, 1982
3) Giuditta slanted headstone
Antonio 1889-1970
Theresa 1899-1967
4) Giuditta footstone
Remigia 1854-1921
Angelo 1850-1922
5) Giuditta footstone
Rosa 1887-1942
I have 7 photo's for you, but as before with Tegan, "attach a photograph" option doesn't seem to work for me And I see you cannot attach to a PM. Any advice on how to attach photo would be helpful !

Hi Mary,
Unfortunately you cannot put attachments on the Look Up Request Boards, perhaps you could ask a moderator to move this thread to the other US Board or you could exchange e-mail addresses and do it privately that way.

Thanks for the info Sandra. Already sent PM's to arrange photo's privately.

Hi Mary
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for me!!
I had a feeling that Elizabeth was not buried with James. When he died she moved to Plainfields and I belive she is buried at the cemetery there.

hey tegan it's really great to know that you have got a little information about your grandfather from archive dept. Have got any other info or the photo of your grandparents ?
-
Hi Thank you for your message.
I haven't been able to find a lot, I don't have photographs of them, I do know where they are buried and where they lived and worked though.
