Hi,
I just found out that Harriet Barker and Joseph Gerrard, who married in 1832 in Rushton Spencer, had at least 3 children before Joseph died in 1838 in Stoke. Harriet then married James Sparks in 1839 in Stoke, he died in 1840, and she married George Goldsmith in 1841 in Stoke.
In the 1841 census, John Gerrard b. 1834 in county is living with George and Harriet Goldsmith in Stoke.
Can someone please help me locate the other two children from Harriet's first marriage:
FRANCES LEVINA GARRARD - Birth: 15 APR 1833
WILLIAM EDWARD GERRARD - Christening: 09 OCT 1836
Thank you,
cassiar

There is this young lady
Lavinia Gerrard aged 8, who seems to be with Anne Vernon? Governess in Albion Terrace, Hanley, Stoke upon Trent. Anne is aged 30. Also a Catherine aged 25 plus a Samuel aged 40.

Hi Wozzle -
Perhaps William did die as a child in 1840.
Joseph Gerrard, died in 1838.
Harriet's second husband, James Sparks, died in Mar qtr of 1840.
Harriet's baby, Anna Sophia Bird Sparks (born late 1839), died in June 1840.
Now if William died in 1840 as well, it seems there was something going on.
I wish I could afford to order all those death certs! Poor Harriet - all those deaths.
Interesting that John was with Harriet, but Lavinia wasn't.
Thanks for your help,

Frances Lavinia was to marry first a George William Blackwell at Macclesfield Cheshire in 1861 and they are shown together in the 1861 Census.George William died in 1869 and Frances Lavinia married in 1878 a William Bostock in 1878 according to Cheshire BMD at Prestbury St Peter.I can't find them in the 1881 Census but there is a death of a Frances Lavinia Bostock at Nottingham in 1890,the Birthyear is given as 1832.
