I am seeking information and looking for decendants of Charles William Richard JANE, and his brother Ernest Crescent Thomas JANE.
Charles was born in 1910, Ernest in 1912. Children of Ernest Jane and Annabella McClurg. Charles died in 1991 at Waihi, burried in the Waihi Public Cemetery. I do not know if Charles had any children. I am keen to find out if there is a headstone at Waihi for Charles.
I would appreciate any assistance.
Thanks Linda

Getting his HErald death notice would be a good start if you don't want to buy certificates or hunt the microfiche for births
Also at Oldfriends.co.nz email all the JANE's and you may get a contact that way

Thanks again.
I have looked at births on microfiche, does not have mothers name that early, Jane is a rather large family Ernest had lots of brothers, so pinning which are mine is hard. I have thought about the death notice, in the Herald, but unsure where to get access to these, for 1991, I was also hoping to find out if there is a head stone on his grave, again I will have to make a trip from mid South Island so it is finding time to fit that in.
I have been in contact with relations of Ernest, it appears my two boys were from a first marriage as parents divorced, They I think lived with their mother, Annabella.
Thanks again

Hi Linda,
It might pay to start a new thread asking if someone is able to go and take a photo for you at the Waihi Cemetery, there are a lot of great RCrs out there and I am sure someone will be able to help, also someone may be able to check the Herald for the death notice,
Cheers Janette

Thanks Janette I do intend to do that at some stage.
Some very kind folk in Auckland have done that for me at a couple of cemeteries.

Hi Linda,
The NZ Society of Genealogists' North Shore Branch have a lookup service for the New Zealand Herald. Having used it myself I can recommend it but be aware that there is a cost for the service. The contact details are:
North Shore Branch has a collection of birth and death notices (c1940 to date) from the New Zealand Herald.
Earlier years are not complete, but later ones are.
MAIL SERVICE ONLY - Please send SSAE and donation to:

Good afternoon Noel.
Welcome to RootsChat.
Although you have picked up on a thread that was last active 14 years ago, the original poster Lindybnz last visited RootsChat three weeks ago. And probably has been sent an email with notification of your posting.
If you make a 3rd post, just a smile face from above will do, you will then be able gain access to the "My Messages" private messaging service, where you will be able to send a private message to Lindybnz, and therein discuss the living, which we are not allowed to do, on the public forum.
See link in the banner, at the top of the page.
All the best.
