Does anyone know anything about a James Campbell of Moynock. His farm was sold in 1885 (I have the advert). My grandfather bought it in 1916 and it was sold in 1971. I am researching its history.

Hi,
Griffiths Valuation lists James Campbell owning a farm (house, offices and 21 acres) in MOYKNOCK in 1858. It was rented from the Mercers Company.

Hi James Campbell and his wife Elizabeth Hutchinson moved from Moynock to a farm at Fallahogy. She died and James ,2 wives later emigrated to Aus and NZ. He is buried at Hastings and died in 1919. A photo of the grave is online. Full name James Alexander. When he left his 2 daughters remained in Ireland and one is my grand mother. He took another daughter with him to NZ and I have been to NZ to see her and to visit the grave. He also had sons and one drowned in NZ. He is also called James and the gravestone mentions his death in 1905.
I hope this is of help.
