Hi
I'm looking for information on a Fred Pugh (believed to be from Wales)
I have the following information.
- He played snooker at Orme hall in Manchester where THE Joe Davis scored his first 100 snooker break against Fred ( mentioned in Joe's book "The Breaks that Came My Way).
- Presume he was born between 1905 -15 as Joe Davis called him a young lad and Joe was 27 at the time ( in 1928).
- Fred had 2 children ( to Edith May Moulden). Edward Henry Pugh born 1932 ( now deceased) in Manchester and (*) born 1935.
- Fred was a Milkman and a Bakers Van driver from the certificates.
- Fred left the family and never seen again after (*) was born
- Believe Fred was Welsh.
Can anyone shed further light on this subject
Cheers

I presume from your post that you have both birth certificates - but what about Frederick's marriage certificate to Edith May? I can't seem to find a reference for one.

Hi Milly
Thanks for the reply, I do have both birth certs, both give father as Frederick Charles, however he never married Edith May.
Thanks
Mick.

ah. That would make it very difficult to follow through on as you don't have his father's name and occupation or his age from a marriage certificate ???

Hi Milly
Its very awkward I know. I don't even know what I was expecting. Maybe a response from a 1920s Manchester snooker enthusiast or something. There are so many people on here with so much to offer.
Thanks again.
Mick.

Hi, great to read this information. I am doing research for a friend in work who's father was Edward Henry Pugh. I can add more details from information gained from her. edward had 2 sibling Joan and Errol. Errol had a different father according to family information. Any further information would be greatly appreciated. Edward did not have a good childhood and was reluctant to discuss his childhood with family. He was in and out of foster homes and relatives.
When I find more info. I will gladly share.
You have helped greatly with being able to give me Fred's partners name. Edith May moulded. Could I be cheeky and ask for a copy of the certificates?
Likewise, any info I gain will gladly share.
Regards
Malcolm Mackenzie
