By chance I was given a copy of the full history pictoral history if the building of Peterhead break water from plans, models and the building many pitures of the men who worked on the build 2 of which were my grandfather and his son.
there pictures of the divers and many of the pictures have names of father and sons on them.
It was a part of my family history I never knew about , and only found out about itby chance when I payign guest working down in Wales doing some diving work brough out his lap top when he heard i had connection with Peterhead. and started shoing me all thsi pictures and i saw my grand fathers name. later my father was able to pick out my mother brother as a young man in many of this old photos.

Nice bit of serendipity there Leanora :) if it's not to much trouble you should post all the names, and perhaps a photo or two.
It might be worthwhile contacting the Arbuthnot museum in Peterhead to let them know what you have too. They might appreciate copies or have more info for you.

I will have to look them out as we moved house, but I sent copys to all the family in scotland as well.
as soon as I have recover from my resent operation. I will do . The diver that gave them to me had them from a divers son from Peterhead he worked with so I am sort of sure there would be a copy there but may be worth asking .
MY grandfather and his son were both named Thomas Kelly(both Know as tom)

I am interested in any photos of the divers especially George Slessor. I have one picture of the divers that We recieved from the Museum in Peterhead.
It is the laying of the last block. I am also interested in any family history of the Slessor family.

Hi Leonora, my uncle, Jackie Davidson Snr appears on the photos, my mother's brother. I also knew Tommy Kelly, who was an old my when I knew him. He lived in the prison quarters and I used to deliver his messages from the little grocers by Burnhaven School, Miss Spence's. I also used to do a lot of fishing on the south breakwater as I live at Burnhaven. I would really appreciate it if I could have copies of your photos or a disc with them on. I would of course cover any costs incurred. Look forward to hearing from you .

i have sent you a private message regarding the above
