hi i am looking for any info on a richard william price born in 1796 he was living in meads in chepstow i believe in 1950 it was a hotel, i was wondering if it was an estate before then. ???

Do you have you dates a little mixed up. If he was born 1796 and alive 1950 he would be 154 years old ;D

 no trish ,i was asking if there was any connection to this gentlemans family in 1950 because this building was a hotel, his son and grandson were all called richard william price.  ???

On the 1841 Census "Meads" is the address of 4 families, including your Richard Price.

On the 1851 Census it looks like the property split into two (enumerator has recorded a and b)

a Meads, King Inn/Arms ?)*, John Harris, Head, Publican
b                                        Name illegible, Head, Butcher

*Has been transcribed as King Inn Wm

After this "Meads" doesn't feature as a specific address but does appear as Meads Parade, Meads Road, Meads Farm etc.
