Any information on Sarah Lycett siblings and William Lycett parentage and Wiliam's siblings please.
Information I have is:-
Sarah lycett born March 1869 married Benjamin Smith in 1886.
I have been unable to trace any siblings of Sarah.
Parentage information I have as follows:
William Lycett and Ann Maria Speake who died at 46 America St, Tunstall, Woolstanton in staffordshire on sept 1869 the same place where sarah was born.
William and Ann married in 1869 at St Matthews, staffordshire, William's father is shown as Michael lycett . Ann's father shown as Thomas speake with witnesses of Fenn.
I have Ann's birth cert which shows her parents as hannah fenn and thomas speake.

Hello Julie
I'm rather confused with some of the information you seem to have.
I can find no marriage for William & Ann in 1869, but there is one in June qtr. 1860 at Wolverhampton district. Ref. 6B 664.
Ann Maria died in Sept qtr. 1869 age 30. Reg'n district Wolstanton. Ref. 6b 66, but I haven't found a death for William (this is from FreeBMD).
Can't find them on the 1861 census.
Found a death for a Michael Lycett in Dec 1839. Birmingham.
Found a death for a Thomas Speake in Mar 1838. Shiffnal (Shropshire).
There are 2 other deaths for a Thomas but they are after 1841 and as I can't find him with a daughter Ann on the 1841 census, I assume he's the one in 1838.
Do you have any age or occupation for William?.
Mike

Thank you Eddie, yes that is the sarah I am researching.
Hi Mike I miskeyed the date in for marriage it is as you said 1860. On William and Ann's marriage cert he is shown as a miner and again on Ann's death certificate, William is shown as a Miner. All I know is that William is shown as full age on the marriage details with Bride being minimum. Witness John austin and Louisa Fenn.
Do you have the GRO for the death certificates for Thomas Speake and Michael lycett, so that I can obtaint them.

Hello Julie
First the references: Michael Lycett - Dec 1839 Birmingham - 16 200.
Thomas Speake - Mar 1838 Shiffnal - 18 148.
I've been trying to find the 1891 census that Eddie found and can't find it anywhere. I've searched using the various names he's listed and an address search, still no luck. The reason for doing this is to look at the actual census to seem if there's a transcription error because he has Sarah as being 31, when in fact she would have been 21, so there's no way all those children are hers, possibly only Maria, in which case the others might be Lycetts.
I'm in the process of looking for a 2nd marriage for William and hopefully I've found one, although I want to check several things before I post.
I do like a good puzzle :o :o ;D ;D

Thank you,
I have sarah lycett 1869 and benjamin smith 1865 children as
John lycett smith 1886, william smith, eliza 1891, samuel 1894, abigail, maria, hilda, dolly and charles. some of my information has come from an elderly relative who remembers some names of aunts. It is thought that dolly may actually be a nickname of one of the other sisters. Some of the children were born in Newport South Wales, others in Wolverhampton areas.
The smith family were pedlers, and the elderly relative says her father told her that her grandfather's family were gypsies and she never got to visit them in Wolverhampton. She knows nothing about her grandmother;s famility.
-
It is also thought that Ann Maria Speake was known As Maria.
-
I found my information for Sarah Lycett - smith on the 1901 census, 15 Cannon Street Wolverhampton is how I transcribed the information.
The family i have on the 1891 census are at 19 old heath. heath town, wednesfield, staffordshire. Sarah here is shown as22 then.
As my subscription has expired I am unable to reconnect but have these 2 census saved to be my desktop, sorry no idea how to attach them here.
Regards
Julie

Hello Julie
These families take some finding on the census returns, but I might have found an opening or two!.
Would you post the year of birth of Ann Maria Speake. I know it says she was 30 when she died in 1869 but I suspect she was a little younger.
With some new information I've found, I know that the death I gave you for Thomas Speake is wrong, I did have my doubts when I saw it was Shropshire, but even more so when you showed that his wife on the death certificate was Frances.
