Having bought recently, an ancient Bible , printed by Joseph Harrop in 1767,found ,written inside front cover the following deaths in Salterhebble.
Ann LISTER died 1798 aged 63. Wife of Thos Lister.
Thomas LISTER died 1820 aged 87.
Lucy LEES died 1820 aged 57.
John LEES died1832 aged 76.
Thomas LEES died 1832 aged 42.
Joseph LEES,son of John Lees,died 1837 aged 45.
All the above were interred in Halifax Parish Church, in the Family Vault ,in the South Aisle.
Sarah LEES, sister of John Lees, died 1837 aged 72, interred in Raistrick Church in Joseph Hammertons Vault.
In some cases the actual time of death is written in,but the death date and burial date stated in all cases.
In the 1829 Pigots Directory there is a John Lees, Gent, in Salterhebble, is this his Family,s Bible?

Yep It is John Lees family Bible....it likely originally belonged to Ann Lister she and Thomas Lister were Aunt and Uncle to John Lees. They were in business together, but I wonder if they were also guardians.
I am descended from this family and sure hope you check into Rootsweb SOON! :) Curious about what else it says.....anyone here know Allen personally??
