Hello
Edward Maxwell Danniel born 19th Feb 1796 Marylebone London
the son of James Evance Danniel born 17th June 1773 in India and Eliza Martha Hodges born 1776
Edward married Emma Isabella Ferrers 21st July 1825 in Westminster (Emma Danniel was 78 and widowed at time of 1881 census so Edward had died by then).
James Evance Danniel's mother Lucy Butler was born in Waterford, Ireland 8th April 1740. So there is an Irish connection although a different County from same part.
On 19th September 1821 Edward was appointed Commander of the "Duchess of Atholl".
Do you think this could be the E M Danniel you are looking for?
Best Wishes

Hi Peter
it probably is the right family as this site gives E M Daniel, M G Daniel (deceased) ,and Ludford Daniel (deceasd) as Landowners. We know that EM's son MG had died in 1857 so there is a link.
http://www.failteromhat.com/lo1876/wexford_i.htm
but I think EM died in 1862.
