Just in case anybody else has had this problem today? I went to look at my Ancestry Trees and they are all gone off the site!!
I have spoken to an adviser by phone and apparently it is a glitch that they are trying to have fixed within the next few hours!
Hopefully saving you all a phone call... ;D
-
Thank you!! I was just having the same problem, just telling self "DON'T PANIC"!!!
-
It was a bit quirky yesterday too.
-
Site Update: They have now taken down the tree options.
And yes, like you Elin, I nearly had kittens too...lol ;D
-
Thanks for letting us know.
I hope they haven't lost everything. I have done a lot of updates this week and usually download a GEDCOM for backup but didn't this time.

The trees are down on the site due to difficulties but lets hope they will be fixed soon.
-
Typical I have a week off this week and have lots of tidying and sorting to do. Have done some but still a long way to go :'(
-
Yes they are still having problems. Also, I spotted a family tree with some of my names in, made a note of the tree owner, but now cant seem to find the owner. Wish that i could do a search for owners names as well on there. [frustrated muttley the dog sounds fshshfnfsh]

Reading these replies to the blog on Ancestry was quite amusing...lol

Well it's back on but not working properly, the "find a person in this tree" function isn't working and from the overview page you can access parents but not spouses or children ::)
-
Mine seems to be working okay :D
I would have been ever so sad if they had lost my trees though.
Funny how angry some people got when they couldn't access their trees for a day.
-
I think the chances of Ancestry losing your tree is so slight, it's not worth worrying about - these organisations keep several backups, in more than one location. If the loss of access causes anyone a lot of inconvenience, then they should consider purchasing a copy of Family Tree Maker, so they can keep a local copy of what they have on Ancestry :)

No point getting angry. It is frustrating but it was only one day. Some of the comments made, made me smile. The rest of the site was working ok :)
I have FTM which I find really good :)
-
Well they have refunded me! Given me an extra day on my membership! :)

Me too ;D ;D
-
And me. 1 extra day.
I dont use a GEDCOM for my tree I just add info to it as I find it. I have a PAF but for Ancestry I started a new tree from scratch.
-
Yep one extra day seems everybody who tried to log on that day will get the same :)
-
I got my email today about 1 extra day. Very exciting. ;D 1 more day. Yeahhh. ;D ;D
-
Me too
-
Although any extra sub for that site is good.
-
Me too, and I never use Ancestry Trees, so it looks as though anyone who tried to log onto the site on Wednesday has been given the extra day's sub. I can't even remember having any problems with the site. ::)
