Title: Poland: trying to find my family members - Surname: Kralczynska
Post by: johnedward on Monday 17 May 10 04:22 BST (UK)
Hi
I'm trying to track down my cousin, who lives in Poland, Warsaw I believe.
I lost contact with her over 20 years ago....
She is the only relative that I know of in Poland, however i assume she would of been married by name
and thus has taken on her husbands surname.
Is there anywhere on-line where I could try to find her details.  I cannot find any birth / death marriage records on line..
Any advice / assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

Hi John

Have you got facebook, I did have a quick look on there & there are members with the surname you are looking for, I tried this & found people with the Italian surname I was searching for.

Its just a thought, you never know what it might lead too.

John can I ask you what your cousins first name is.

Good luck with your search if you need any help with facebook I am here.

Hi Lynne

Thankyou for your message, yes I'm on facebook, I have found 2 people on facebook with the same surname. I have tried to contact them but as yet have
not had any replies.
My cousins full name is Małgorata Kralczynska
She doesn't appear to be on on facebook and if she is she is probably using her married name...(I assume she is married by now)..but I don't know it...

My sister is going to Poland soon, and she would like to catch up with her, and Margaret (Malgorata in Polish) is the only family that we know off....

Thankyou for replying to my message and for your help...

Take Care

John

Have you approached the Polish Embassy?

They might well have records that will help you, especially when they know you are a cousin ;)

Hi

Hi Lynne

Thanks for your quick reply :-)

Yes I may try that soon, I have found a few people with the surname in the online Polish White pages, so I may ring them to see if they are related to

Margaret.

Failing that, I may try the Polish emabassy....

Thanks for your suggestion

Thankyou for your help, much appreciated.

I tried ringing the numbers I found of people with the same surname in the online Polish white pages , but no luck.
My sister tried the Polish embassy, which referred her to the Red cross, but still no luck.
I will look on that genealogy site that you have provided. I gather you must be off Italian descent then.  So you managed to find your relatives ???

Thanks Again

John

Help with spelling.

''My cousins full name is Małgorata Kralczynska''

Gosia: is the short form of Małgorzata. (u missed out the z)

Kralczyńska: notice the mark above the n (ń)

BTW. you could try: nasza klasa.pl

Thanks Kaja

I thought she may have had a 'z' in her, but that is how she spelled her name in the last letter
we received from her many years ago.
And thankyou for the mark above the about the n e.g. ń

I think that I may have found her,  I have found a phone number that I may be able to contact her on.

Thanks to you and everyone here for your replies / advice.

Take Care
