I wonder if anyone could help me, my Great Great Grandad was the Innkeeper of the Mason Arms at Westerton between Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland.
I would like any information on the pub and if all possible I wonder if anyone has any pictures or where I might be able to find some at.
His name was Hunter and he was the Innkeeper around 1879 till approx 1881.
Thanks Vera

Hello, I now live in this pub which is now a house. Did you have any luck finding out any information as I would also like any history on our house. I do have a very old photo but other than that have not been able to find out much about where we live. Anything you could provide would be great. Kind regards, Lyn

Hello
I have a copy of Bob Hall's book "Public Houses of Spennymoor & Neighbourhood The Mason's Arms features on page 42. I could scan the page for you if that is any help. It gives details of known licensees and there are two photographs.

Hi It looks like my ancestors were the "publicans" here - 1901 Census. Would love a photo, as many of my other ancestors were born in westerton and probably had a pint or two here
