Can you clarify exactly what info you are looking for?

Have you checked Scotlands People for his birth reg as it will give both parents names and mothers maiden name

What sort of information are you looking for? James Sinclair was born after latest available Scottish census (1901) but his birth certificate (and possible marriage an death) should be found on Scotland's People website- the website details what information is found on the certificates, how to purchase credits, etc.

Hi A Baigrie,

The closest I can see for James is a James Barr Sinclair, registered 1915 in Aberlady.

This may fit with a marriage in 1906 between an Adam Sinclair and Mary L Barr in Musselburgh. Both were of Aberlady with the bride's father being named James. I can pass on details if you think this is correct.

The 1881 census shows James Barr b approx 1843 Musselburgh and Mary L b approx 1849 also Musselburgh
