Title: Bowler family 1700's Marple, Cheshire
Post by: caferacer on Saturday 26 March 05 22:35 GMT (UK)
i have just got back to my great-great-grandfather Charles Bowler who was born in 1800 in Marple, Cheshire.
ive looked on the lds site and found several bowlers in the area in the 1700's but cannot get a link from them to Charles.
if anyone has any info about the bowler family from the area in the 1700's i would be very grateful
thanks

I believe this group of Bowlers are spread down  the Cheshire Derbyshire border, I know there are quite a few around Denton/Hyde area but you could try Macclesfield, I reckon some of them came up from there, not much use but it might give you some more options to search.

hi david
ive seen your website - i was hoping to be able to link into your tree somehow - but as you say - most of them are a bit further down - maybe my branch moved north a bit - i did find some bowler records from the early/mid 1700's in the area of marple so i think i'll try to get a link to them 1st.
by the way, you wouldnt happen to know if the chester records office holds data from the very east of the county do you? - im going there to have a look, probably next week.

The records for your area are in Staley Bridge Library but if you go there you need to book a film viewer, they have all the N/east corner of Cheshire  and some N/Derbyshire & S/East Lancs.
I do have a copy of a family tree based around the Macclesfield area, I'll fish it out and send you a copy, I'll be in touch offline.
