Hi,
I am trying to place this man in Wales and after searching the IGI from 1824-1832 found one entry of a bapt for Joseph Williams on 6th may 1827 son of Joseph and Ann at Llanasa. The middle name has been passed onto future generations in various spelling Slobin,Slowburne, etc.
Joseph Slobourn Williams married in Australia in 1860.
From his marriage cert it states simply his place of birth as Wales ,1825.
Father Joseph Slobourn Williams and mother Ann maiden name Sloburn.
To date I have not been able to find his arrival into Australia. Did Joseph and Ann marry in Llanasa or have other children there?
Any help or advice please, Kerri

Hi,
I will be going to the Hawarden records office next Monday and will try and find out if they have a record of him there for you.
Cheers

Hi
Hope you are lucky and find the baptism you are after but Williams is a very popular surname locally.
There are very few entries for the Parish Churches in area on the IGI. This link shows the ones covered which includes Llanasa baptisms 1814-1837.

Having said that I haven't come across the name Sloburn and cannot find it listed on the site below which may mean the marriage didn't take place in Denbighshire or Flintshire.
